Jennifer Smith – “Unfinished”
Textile Artists are notorious for having unfinished projects. These forgotten projects have hours of work that has gone into them, but unless the work is revisited these projects are often never seen. It is time to see them!
Jennifer Smith is a Curator and Arts Professional from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her work focuses on the use of craft in contemporary art. She works at Video Pool Media Arts Centre and is the Vice President of the Board for the Manitoba Craft Council. She curated Craft on the Loose in 2010 and Casting On: The History of Knitting in Manitoba for the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library, co-organized the community project Knitting the Bridge in 2010, and curated Tapestries of Film; a film and video screening for the Manitoba Craft Council. Jennifer most recently curated the Unravelled exhibition for the Manitoba Craft Council, with the support of curatorial mentor Jenny Western.
