CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Help celebrate our Paperversary by making a contribution of your handmade work to an auction in support of the soon to open C2 Centre for Craft.

On April 6, 2017, the Manitoba Craft Council and the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library are again joining forces to host a fundraising social event in celebration craft and community.  The centerpiece of this fundraiser will be a silent auction of contemporary and traditional craftwork by our members.  At last year’s Good Ol’ Manitoba Craft Social, more than $2,700 was raised from the auction alone thanks to the generous support of craftspeople.  Together, we can build an amazing future for craft in Manitoba.  All auction proceeds will go towards the development and renovation of the C2 Centre for Craft.

Eligible work:  The silent auction is open to original work in any craft related media.  Minimum starting bid is $25 or higher, as set by the craft artist.

Submission process:  Please email info@mcml.ca by March 18th to let us know what you’ll be donating to the auction and approximate dimensions.  Fill out the attached Paperversary craft auction CONTRACT form and bring it, along with your work, to the MCML during the drop off times indicated.  Please pack your work carefully to ensure its safety during transportation to the Paperversary event and home at the end of the evening with its new owner.  Packing your work in a box is recommended.

Auction format:  the auction will be silent. Each piece will have a minimum bid price and participants place their bids on a piece of paper.  At the auction’s end, the highest bid wins.  Artists may choose to donate 50-100% of their auction proceeds to C2.

Auction date/time:  The silent auction will take place at the Paperversary party.

Thursday, April 6, 7-11 pm, at the Good Will Social Club, 625 Portage Ave

Questions:  Please contact Andrea at 204.487.6117 (curator@mcml.ca) or Tammy at 204.946.0803. (programme@manitobacraft.ca)

*The traditional first anniversary gift is paper, so we’re taking this opportunity to shine a light on paper in our décor and activities.
