Corrie Peters

I am interested in relationships that grow through spending time together in the small habits that make up life, and small moments of connection that make one feel less alone.

Investment in relationships has meant that I cannot help but look at the systems of power we are all apart of. I have been fortunate enough to learn how to approach art, activism, caring and helping from many on the edges of these systems.

I have increasing come to look at the role of the objects I have made or collected, often food and handiwork, as twofold. In their first role, in a relational piece they are tools to facilitate connections and offer welcome or exclusion. In their second role, they are a documentation of a relational practice: objects committing an act of translation to a larger audience.
